“Anyone who has never made a mistake, has never tried anything new.” _Albert Einstein.

Mistakes can be defined as actions taken or choices made as a result of lack of guidance, knowledge, or attention. From this definition, one can infer that making a mistake is an accident preceded by an absence of detailed and complete information, or by a misunderstanding of information provided.

Mostly, mistakes made in life are climaxes of obscure goals, and a misjudgment of the resources required to follow through a decision. Today's post is about my perspective

on the importance of making mistakes.

Importance of mistakes.

From the quote stated above, any individual who is a novice in any particular venture is bound to make mistakes. These are new experiences which allow the individual to learn and to make better choices if they are acknowledged and accepted. Learning from past mistakes may also confer on a person confidence when presented with the same or similar circumstances: the person is certain of the decision he/she is making, therefore, confront the task or problem from a stance of conviction.

Lastly, a person who commits a blunder but is aware of their actions or in-actions is less likely to be complacent. Such an individual will always aspire to be better hence, will put in the measures necessary to improve them themselves. Errors are just reminders that one has to go back to review instructions or in some cases, pay more attention.

Although certain mistakes can be embarrassing when viewed in retrospect, one must not be unyielding or too hard on themselves, rather, he/she should make the most of the circumstances, no matter how devastating. Since we can not turn back the hands of time, one can only learn from the past, make progressive decisions and endeavor to avoid making the same mistakes.

Well, mistakes can be frustrating, annoying, embarrassing and they make you feel quite stupid, right?

As much as the above statement are true, we must also remember that slip-ups and oversights will happen to each person; therefore, this post just reiterates the value of learning and sometimes relearning from your mistakes; because at the end of the day, that's the best that can be done.
